I am Judge Julia Brouillette, your Oneida County Incumbent Family Court Judge.

I have presided over thousands of matters impacting families of Oneida County, as well as Herkimer & Onondaga Counties. I am committed to improving our family court & ask for your support during my 2024 re-election campaign.

Thank you.

1,200 - 1,600

cases per year

adoption • juvenile delinquency • persons in need of supervision • custody & visitation • support • guardianship • paternity • family offenses • child protective abuse and neglect proceedings

Oneida County Courts are experiencing challenges similar to those of our state & country.

Since COVID, I have observed the following changes:

  1. Substantial increases in mental health needs

  2. Decreases in the attorney pool

  3. Increases in cases requiring the services of interpreters

  4. Surges in youth violence

  5. Apparent increase in substance use & addiction

  6. General decrease in number of service providers

These 6 challenges often overlap, making cases even more complicated & difficult to resolve in a timely & thorough manner.

About Me

While volunteering a great deal of my time to the above organizations, I am very engaged in activities involving my children. Since being on the bench, I have mentored at least a dozen students ranging in ages from 18 - 25. I have also volunteered to judge moot court, mock trials & oration competitions.

I enjoy quizzing young adults when they come to court–not as a means to embarrass, but in an effort to point out the importance of education.

In my spare time, I love to garden. During summer, I always have a few flowers from my garden in my courtroom.
